Bo Nickal vehemently disputes media narrative on grappling showdown with Jon Jones: "Irresponsible journalism"

UFC middleweight Bo Nickal slammed the media platform for spreading misinformation among his fans.

Ahead of UFC 309, Jon Jones and Bo Nickal engaged in light grappling in the waiting room. MMA Uncensored, a media platform, misquoted Nickal’s comment as “Didn’t want to humiliate (Jones) in front of 50 people” and shared the post on their X account. This led to trolling from Jones' fans, who consider him the best fighter.

The undefeated UFC middleweight took to X, resharing the post and clarifying his comments while slamming MMA Uncensored for their misleading information. Nickal wrote:

“I said this right after saying I’ll beat Steph in a 3 point contest, throw a football further than Josh Allen, hit a homer off Ohtani, and beat Cole Hocker in the 1500m. Straight up irresponsible journalism by @MMAUNCENSORED1 next time get the full quote.”

Both Jones and Nickal secured victories at UFC 309. The former NCAA titleholder won by unanimous decision against Paul Craig, extending his undefeated record to 7-0. Meanwhile, 'Bones' claimed a KO/TKO victory against Stipe Miocic in the third round.

Bo Nickal claims his fight against Paul Craig is his smartest to date

Bo Nickal got his hand raised for the first time by a decision victory, as all his previous wins had come via finishes in the UFC. Nickal, considered one of the top prospects in MMA, was expected to secure a finish against Paul Craig. Despite being known for his grappling prowess, Nickal kept the fight standing against Craig. Throughout the fight, he was booed by the fans.

In his YouTube video, Nickal asserted that his fight with Craig was the smartest of his career, and he slammed fans for booing during the fight. Nickal said:

"I fought the best and smartest fight of my career and nobody is going to change my mind on that. So if anybody has a problem with it come over to freakin ATT [American Top Team] in Pleasant Gap and strap up. If you have got a problem with it you can see what it feels like to get punched in the face. So otherwise shut up.”
