Bobby Green has opened up about his recent USADA suspension.
In July, Green was shockingly removed from his UFC 276 bout against Jim Miller. ‘King’ was suspended by USADA for six months after failing a drug test for DHEA. The 36-year-old returns to action against Drew Dober on December 17.
During the UFC Vegas 66 media day, the longtime UFC fighter had this to say about his USADA suspension:
“I’m getting old, guys. To be this consistent, to be this great, I gotta start doing some things, and not no drugs, ok? I would never ever play with you. I’m all about health. If that means I can clean my liver, clean my kidneys, maybe remove some plaque out of my arteries, I’m all for it to help me keep going. Besides that, stop playing with me. I don’t do anything like this, guys. I would never play with it… So, don’t confuse me with those guys.”

Green was then asked about his reaction when told about his USADA suspension. He had this to say:
“The week before my fight [USADA called]. I broke down crying. You know how hard I worked? You know how hard I worked to get to this one point?”
The news was initially surprising because of Green’s hatred for PED usage. Luckily, he explained what led to his USADA suspension.

Bobby Green details what led to his USADA suspension
Bobby Green was suspended for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), an over-the-counter supplement. During the UFC Vegas 66 media day, Green explained what led to him taking DHEA by saying:
“I had no idea that you could find something at Walmart. Not behind the counters. Not anything I had to ask a doctor or ask someone for. No, the same thing a kid could go get or could go steal. It’s right there in the vitamin section. There’s vitamin A, vitamin C, and this other thing right there says DHEA. I don’t know what that was, but I’ve been watching these videos with this guy named Dr. Eric Burg. Look him up on YouTube, and he’s all about health.”
Green signed with the UFC in 2013 after competing in several high-profile promotions, including Strikeforce and King of the Cage. ‘King’ has amassed a UFC record of 10-8-1, with wins against Clay Guide, Al Iaquinta, and Josh Thompson. He must now shake off his six-month suspension and fight his way back into the lightweight title shot discussion.
