It appears Conor McGregor is back in training after narrowly avoiding a serious penal sentence. The Irishman recently took to social media to share a clip of him sparring, accompanied by a cryptic message.

Earlier this week, McGregor settled a pending legal matter with the Irish courts regarding his March 2022 arrest for dangerous driving. The police stopped and arrested him for running a red light and speeding through traffic, nearly causing a collision. McGregor was handed a five-month suspended sentence with a €5,000 fine. He must conditionally stay out of trouble for two years.

Additionally, the former two-division UFC champion was also handed a two-year driving ban. The legal squall seemingly didn't stop McGregor from resuming his training, and he soon posted a sparring clip showing off his striking prowess on X. He wrote:

"Make them scared to throw and then bomb them with a home-built explosive, this is Ireland. Me."

While McGregor was expected to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June, he was forced to withdraw due to a toe injury. However, the matchup is expected to take place later this year.

As mentioned, Conor McGregor is expected to face Michael Chandler in his long-awaited return to mixed martial arts. The Irishman last fought Dustin Poirier in an ill-fated bout at UFC 264 in July 2021, during which he fractured his leg and was forced to undergo extensive surgery and physical therapy.

After over two years of recovery and physical rehabilitation, McGregor was booked against Chandler at UFC 303 in June. However, a toe injury ruined those plans, and the fight was expected to be rescheduled for a later date.

During a recent interaction with the media, the Irishman opened up about the fight and revealed that the promotion was considering re-booking the matchup for the end of the calendar year. He said:

"My comeback is scheduled for the end of the year... closing out the show. So, I was close to returning, we had an incident and a postponement had to happen. And it is what it is... The fight is re-scheduled for the end of this calendar year. I'm excited about that and eager to come back."
