Legendary rapper 50 Cent believes boxing is back after Shakur Stevenson was seen staring down Devin Haney.

On Saturday night, May 20, Haney defended his undisputed lightweight status against Vasiliy Lomachenko inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena. ‘The Dream’ overcame a close war and emerged victorious by unanimous decision (116-112 and 115-113 x2).

Shortly after the controversial decision was announced, Stevenson entered the ring and called out the undisputed lightweight champion for a super-fight later this year. While standing near Haney, an incredible photo was taken of Stevenson staring down ‘The Dream.’ 50 Cent shared the image on Instagram with the caption saying:

“This is how it really go right here Devin on top of the world, but the wolves are in the background waiting. Boxing 🥊 is back ! #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi”

Haney’s win against Lomachenko extended his professional boxing record to 30-0. Despite being 24 years old, ‘The Dream’ has established a respectable resume thus far with wins against Jorge Linares and George Kambosos Jr x2.

Meanwhile, Stevenson is hungry for a world title to further validate his massive potential. The Newark native holds a 20-0 record with wins against Jamel Herring, Oscar Valdez, Shuichiro Yoshino, and more. Safe to say, diehard boxing fans would be ecstatic if the matchup between undefeated Americans was made for the undisputed lightweight world championship.

Shakur Stevenson believes Devin Haney is not on his level

Shakur Stevenson has never been short of confidence. Despite Devin Haney’s impressive run thus far, Stevenson believes he’s a level above the undisputed lightweight champion. During an interview in the ring on Saturday night, the Newark native had this to say about a potential matchup with Haney:

“Let’s make it happen. I think that should happen next. I think Devin is not on my level and Imma show it.”

It’s unclear what’s next for Devin Haney. At the moment, Haney and his father, Bill, don’t believe Vasiliy Lomachenko deserves an immediate rematch. Meanwhile, ‘The Dream’ has teased a move up to super lightweight, potentially jeopardizing the chances of a potential fight against Shakur Stevenson.
