The pair were initially scheduled for a June 1 bout but it was postponed due to a torn meniscus suffered by Beterbiev. Now, with just weeks remaining, the two men will finally settle the debate surrounding light heavyweight supremacy.
Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol are both undefeated champions
At light heavyweight, Artur Beterbiev holds the IBF, WBC, and WBO titles, while the WBA belt is held by Dmitry Bivol. Both men will meet on Oct. 12 to decide the fate of the division.
Not only are they undefeated, with Beterbiev being 20-0 and Bivol being 23-0, but it is also an exceptional stylistic clash.
Beterbiev is the most effective power-puncher in boxing today, with all 20 of his wins coming by way of either knockout or TKO. Meanwhile, Bivol is a defensive wizard whose distance management renders him difficult to tag.
