The boxing schedule for January 2025 is one stacked with matchups of every variety. The month opens with a Jan. 8 event organized by Tasman Fighters, Matchroom Boxing, and Goldstar, and streamed by DAZN. It features three championship bouts.
Jai Opetaia defends his IBF cruiserweight title against fellow undefeated boxer David Nyika. Similarly, two unbeaten fighters in Justis Huni and Shaun Potgieter compete for the IBF Pan Pacific heavyweight belt. There's also Max McIntyre vs. Abdulselam Saman for the IBF Youth super middleweight title.
Then, on Jan. 11, Boxxer hosts an event streamed by Peacock, with Callum Smith defending his British and Commonwealth super middleweight titles against Steed Woodall. Meanwhile, Daniel Dubois' sister, Caroline Dubois, defends her WBC and IBO women's lightweight belt against Jessica Camara.

Six days later on Jan. 17, 360 Promotions and UFC Fight Pass present an understated card headlined by Omar Trinidad vs. Mike Plania for the former's WBC Continental Americas featherweight title. Japan's Mizuki Hiruta also defends her WBO women's super flyweight title against Maribel Ramirez.
Next on Jan. 18 is Darren Till, who was originally scheduled to face Tommy Fury in a Misfits Boxing and DAZN show. Unfortunately for the former UFC title challenger, Fury withdrew from the bout after Till threatened, albeit merely to hype up their fight, to head kick him if he starts losing their bout.
While Till has confirmed that he will stay on the card, there's no news on who he'll fight in place of Fury, who he has lambasted for pulling out.

Jan. 24 features the return of a pound-for-pound great, as the Japan Boxing Commission, Top Rank, and ESPN+ presents Naoya Inoue vs. Sam Goodman for the Japanese knockout artist's undisputed super bantamweight title. Elsewhere, Jin Sakai defends his OPBF and WBO Asia Pacific welterweight titles.
He faces the underwhelming Shoki Sakai, who is meant as a showcase. A day later on Jan. 25, Matchroom Boxing and DAZN host Diego Pacheco vs. Steven Nelson for the former's WBO International and WBC USA super middleweight titles, and Andy Cruz vs. Omar Salcido for the IBF International lightweight title.
On the same day, another Matchroom and DAZN event takes place, featuring Dalton Smith vs. Walid Ouizza, and Ellie Scotney defending her IBF women's super bantamweight title against Mea Motu. Finally, on Jan. 31, another Matchroom and DAZN is scheduled.
Among its bouts are George Liddard vs. Derrick Osaze at middleweight, and Junaid Bostan vs. Bilal Fawaz at light middleweight.
