It appears as though there is a massive change to UFC 311 as Arman Tsarukyan has reportedly pulled out of his lightweight title fight against Islam Makhachev and replaced by Renato Moicano. His long-awaited title fight was scheduled to headline tomorrow night's pay-per-view, so it is an unfortunate situation for the Armenian and his fans.
The No.1-ranked UFC lightweight appeared to be in great spirits and confident during last night's pre-fight press conference, however, he reportedly suffered an injury during his weight cut.
Tsarukyan's brother, Artur took to his Instagram account and posted a statement on his story confirming that the title challenger sustained the injury while cutting the final few pounds.
"Unfortunately, we withdrew from the fight due to Arman's injury he sustained during the last kilogram...which makes this a difficult decision for all of us. Once again, we apologize to all the fans. For us, it was more than just a fight." [translation]

Dana White announces Renato Moicano as Arman Tsarukyan's replacement
In addition to Arman Tsarukyan's brother sharing the update regarding his status for UFC 311, Dana White announced that Renato Moicano would be stepping in to challenge Islam Makhachev in the main event.
The No.10-ranked lightweight is currently riding a four-fight winning streak and was scheduled to fight Beneil Dariush on the UFC 311 main card.
White posted video to his X account describing what transpired and mentioned that Moicano was the back-up in case a replacement was needed:
"[Tsarukyan] informed us that he was experiencing significant back pain. Due to the injury, he feels like he is not healthy enough to compete, so he is out of the fight. Stepping in to face Islam Makhachev for the title will be Renato Moicano...The guy is an absolute savage and every fight he's in is a war."
