Henry Cejudo explains why Bo Nickal shouldn't be rushed to the top in the UFC
Freestyle wrestling Olympic gold medalist and former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo recently addressed Bo Nickal's UFC future.
Taking to his YouTube channel, Cejudo suggested that Nickal needs at least six more fights against lower-tier opposition before taking on the top-10-ranked UFC middleweights.
'Triple C' indicated that Nickal's next fight shouldn't be against an elite opponent, emphasizing that he shouldn't face top-ranked fighters this early in his MMA career.
Cejudo highlighted that the much-hyped prospect has plans to become a pound-for-pound great and can do it, provided he takes his time. He said:
"Obviously, he [Nickal] did win [his UFC debut], but I also saw a little difference in him too because he did struggle to get that takedown. MMA wrestling, it is different than NCAA wrestling. They have to continue to keep building Bo Nickal. If they don’t build Bo Nickal and they give him somebody tough, Bo Nickal is going to struggle."
