A lightweight bout between Drew Dober and Bobby Green has been scheduled for UFC Fight Night: Cannonier vs. Strickland, the last UFC card of 2022. The unranked lightweights will meet on the main card of the event.
Both fighters will enter the octagon for the third and final time in 2022. Drew Dober picked up a first-round TKO victory over Terrance McKinney. The latter fought on 14 days notice, from a very entertaining fight at UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Ankalaev. Dober was knocked down twice and taken down twice before pulling out of the victory as his opponent gassed out.
Dober's second appearance in 2022 was equally as entertaining, as he pulled off a third-round knockout victory over Rafael Alves with a at UFC 277. Dober would win a Performance of the Night award for his beautifully placed body shot.

Bobby Green defeated Nasrat Haqparast via unanimous decision at UFC 271 to begin his calendar year. Green dominated the fight, winning each round on all three judges' scorecards. He landed 188 total significant strikes, the third-most in UFC lightweight history, and second-most in a three-round lightweight bout.
Green returned to the octagon just two weeks later to face Islam Makhachev in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Makhachev vs. Green. While many commended Green for stepping in on such short notice against a very tough opponent, he was quickly defeated in the first-round via a ground-and-pound TKO. The victory earned Makahchev a title shot.
Bobby Green returning from USADA suspension
Bobby Green was scheduled to face Jim Miller at UFC 276, however, the fight was called off.
Green later revealed on Instagram that he was suspended for six months by USADA due to a failed test caused by a supplement that he purchased at Walmart. The supplement contained DHEA, a banned substance. Green claimed that he was unaware that the substance was banned as it was available over the counter.
Green revealed that he took the supplements after recommendations from Joe Rogan and The Liver King. He also claimed that he faced a longer suspension by discussing the matter publicly, but chose to be transparent regardless. Green noted that the responsibility and blame falls on him, and not USADA.
In the past, the unranked lightweight has been very outspoken about fighters that use supplements to gain an advantage. While his failed test seemed like an honest mistake, Green received backlash for the suspension.
While his canceled fight with Miller was scheduled for July, his failed test took place on May 16th meaning that Green was cleared to return to competition on November 16th. Green will look to put the incident behind him and get back in the win column against Drew Dober at UFC Fight Night: Cannonier vs. Strickland.
