It appears as though another UFC veteran has competed in his final bout as former middleweight champion Chris Weidman officially announced his retirement. The 40-year-old retires with a professional record of 16-8, with 10 of his wins coming via finish.
The New York native achieved plenty of success in his career and overcame adversity, when he returned to the octagon two-years after breaking his leg in his bout against Uriah Hall.
'The All-American' most notably ended Anderson Silva's legendary record-setting middleweight title reign in incredible fashion as he knocked out the Brazilian in the second round. Their rematch was memorable for unfortunate circumstances as he retained his title when Silva broke his leg after his leg-kick was checked by Weidman.
The 40-year-old had three successful title defenses including his win over Silva, Lyoto Machida, and Vitor Belfort before losing the title to Luke Rockhold. During the UFC 311 weigh-in show, Weidman mentioned that he accomplished everything he aspired to achieve and expressed his gratitude toward the promotion:

"The goal was to be a UFC fighter. Then, immediately the goal was to become a UFC world champion. 14 years later, I'm here and I'm here to tell you guys I'm hanging up the gloves in the UFC. I am no longer going to be fighting for the organization...I'm just super appreciative to everybody who got me here."

When was Chris Weidman's final UFC fight?
Chris Weidman's final fight took place last month at UFC 310, which was the promotion's final pay-per-view of 2024.
'The All-American' fought fellow UFC veteran Eryk Anders in a 195-pound catchweight bout after their initial bout the month prior was postponed after Anders withdrew due to food poisoning.
The catchweight bout headlined the early prelims portion of the event and saw Anders earn a second-round TKO after finishing Weidman with ground-and-pound strikes.
