Guram Kutateladze was looking to put his recent loss behind him and begin his run into the top 15, but unfortunately for the prospect, his scheduled bout against Thiago Moises at UFC 283 has been canceled.
'The Georgian King' is regarded as one of the many rising stars in the lightweight division and was set to face a fellow young talent before the fight was pulled from the card. In his last outing, the 30-year-old lost a split decision to Damir Ismagulov, which was his first loss in the UFC, breaking his nine-fight win streak.
As reported on social media and later discussed by James Lynch, Guram Kutateladze pulled out of his upcoming fight at UFC 283 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, set to commence in a little over two weeks' time.
"Guram Kutateladz is out of his fight against Thiago Moises at UFC 283... Tough blow to this card... Thiago Moises and Guram on the prelims but still a very important fight for the division. We'll see if Thiago Moises ends up getting a replacement, obviously a Brazilian fighter himself, I'm sure he wants to be on the card... We'll see if they rebook the fight, I think that's probably the best move depending on how long the injury is."

As stated above, Thiago Moises will likely want to remain on the card and add another big name to his record as he attempts to breach the insanely competitive rankings in the 155lb division.
In his most recent octagon appearance, the South American earned a rear-naked choke submission over the highly experienced Christos Giagos midway through the first round.

Guram Kutateladze's presence in the UFC lightweight division
Despite only fighting twice inside the octagon and holding a record of 1-1 in the UFC, Guram Kutateladze has managed to gather a strong core following in the sport.
Alongside his well-rounded style and sheer physicality, the Georgian has allegiances outside the cage with Khamzat Chimaev and is often featured in many training videos that surface of the welterweight contender.
Not only was he in the spotlight on a number of occasions on social media, but he brought an elite mentality into the octagon and even managed to claim a win over #7-ranked Mateusz Gamrot during his UFC debut.
