It looks like Islam Makhachev made history twice tonight, one of which has sent fight fans into a frenzy.
At UFC 311, the lightweight champion made light work of late replacement Renato Moicano, submitting him in the opening round with a darce choke. With the win, Makhachev has now become the only fighter in UFC history to defend the 155-pound title four times.

The Dagetani's readiness to fight the late-notice replacement coupled with his dominant win has also seemingly made history by definitively winning over Dana White.
During the post-fight press conference of the pay-per-view, the UFC CEO, who historically has fought tooth and nail to argue that Jon Jones deserves the pond-for-pond No.1 spot, finally conceded and gave credit to the lightweight kingpin, saying:
"He is already the pound-for-pound No.1... Yeah, I'll give it to him [Makhachev]... Is everybody happy now?"

Suffice it to say White's surprising statement caught fans off guard, prompting them to flood social media noting their thoughts and opinions.

With the win against Moicano, Makhachev is now tied with former welterweight kingpin Kamaru Usman for the second-longest winning streak in promotional history. One more win will help him tie UFC legend Anderson Silva for the No.1 spot.
While Makhachev had a great night out at UFC 311, the same cannot be said for all Team Khabib Nurmagomedov fighters. In the co-main event 'The Eagles's' protege and cousin, Umar Nurmagomedov suffered a unanimous decision loss to reigning bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili.
