Breaking news: Bryce Mitchell scheduled to face fellow undefeated UFC fighter Ilia Topuria at UFC 282

Earlier tonight, Bryce Mitchell announced that he was fighting on December 10th at UFC 282, but didn't announce an opponent at the time.

It didn't take long for the news to break, with the American set to take on Ilia Topuria on the pay-per-view card.

Mitchell had struggled to book an opponent in the UFC and seemingly had his bout against Topuria written off. 'Thug Nasty' had stated on his Twitter account that Topuria had concerns over making the weight cut, but this seems to have been resolved.

UFC 282 is set to feature some big names, with Jiří Procházka, Glover Teixeira, Paddy Pimblett, Jan Błachowicz and many more competing on the December card.

Both fighters will be putting their unbeaten records on the line in December, with Bryce Mitchell currently having a flawless record after 15 professional MMA outings. His upcoming opponent, Ilia Topuria, is unbeaten during his 12 outings in professional MMA.

Mitchell has fought six times in the UFC, with his biggest win coming in his previous outing. Edson Barboza failed to become the first man to beat the American, losing via unanimous decision at UFC 272: Covington vs. Masvidal.

Despite Ilia Topuria only fighting four times in the UFC, the German-born fighter has made a name for himself in the organization, partly due to his feud with Paddy Pimblett. The Englishman and Topuria looked like they were heading for a bout after clashing at UFC London, but the contest never happened and 'El Matador' has since remained in the featherweight division.
