After three years away from the octagon, Jon Jones will make his highly anticipated heavyweight debut at UFC 285 in March.
Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub believes Jones will have no trouble defeating Ciryl Gane despite opening as the betting underdog.
Speaking on his podcast, Thiccc Boy, Schaub cited Jones' wrestling credentials as key to beating the Frenchman as the latter has questionable takedown defense:

"What's hilarious to me is Jon's a +100 [betting underdog]. I would put my entire life savings on Jon Jones beating Ciryl Gane. I know Vegas wants the line to move...my God! I need to bet on it as soon as I get out of here to make a ton of money on that fight. If Francis [Ngannou] on one leg can out-grapple Ciryl Gane over five rounds, what do you think Jon's going to do? Easy money."
Schaub added:
"Jon's money line is sitting around +110. A successful $100 wager on the light heavyweight GOAT would bring in $110. As for Gane, he's a shock at -130 favorite. Oh my god, take my money DraftKings."
While Jones will be making his heavyweight debut, and it will be over three years since his last fight, it is still shocking to see him as an underdog. As Schaub pointed out, Gane was unable to wrestle an injured Francis Ngannou at UFC 270, who is not nearly as good on the ground as Jones.

Aljamain Sterling believes Jon Jones will rely on his wrestling to defeat Ciryl Gane
Jon Jones is officially set to return after a three-year hiatus from mixed martial arts. He will make his heavyweight debut at UFC 285 against No.1-ranked heavyweight contender Ciryl Gane.
Aljamain Sterling recently shared that the long-time light heavyweight champion will rely on his wrestling to defeat Ciryl Gane.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, FunkMasterMMA, the bantamweight champion stated:
"The biggest advantage for Jones in this fight is his championship caliber - that experience - and his wrestling acumen. I think that's going to be something that he's going to heavily have to rely on. The longer the fight stays on the feet in those first, second, and third rounds, I think it's more in the favor of Gane."
