It's been a long road to Zamboanga's first ONE world title opportunity and she has every intention of taking home the gold and putting the Philippines back on the MMA map in a big way. Speaking to Nick Atkin of the Bangkok Post, Zamboanga said:
"Yeah, I think it's time to bring back the belt to the Philippines. It’s very very [emotional]. I think I’m very blessed to have this opportunity to represent the Philippines and fight for the Philippines."

Denice Zamboanga ready to cash in on her long-awaited title opportunity at ONE Fight Night 27
Denice Zamboanga's path to ONE Championship gold has taken her through some of the biggest names in the atomweight division, including Jihin Radzuan, Mei Yamaguchi, Lin Heqin, Julie Mezabarba, and Noelle Grandjean.
Originally, 'The Menace' was scheduled to square off with Stamp Fairtex for the undisputed atomweight crown in June, but a knee injury forced Stamp to bow out of the bout and undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus.
Undeterred, Zamboanga moved on and bagged another dominant victory over Grandjean before being paired up with Rassohyna for an interim title showdown in The Land of Smiles.
Who comes out on top and sets the stage for a future clash with Stamp in 2025?
Fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE Fight Night 27 live on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, Jan. 10 in U.S. primetime.
