Michael Bisping recently came out in support of Jamahal Hill following his altercation with Alex Pereira at a UFC gym last year. Bipsing asserted that Hill was correct to turn down the fight with Pereira that day, pointing out that it would be pointless to fight for nothing when you could earn a lot of money to square off inside the octagon.

For context, Hill and Pereira met in person again at UFC PI in December last year, where the former champion seemed determined to take on the Brazilian. Following a brief exchange of words, 'Poatan' threw a pair of gloves at the American, challenging him to meet inside the cage next to them.

However, MMA coach Plinio Cruz intervened to control the situation after Hill declined, stating he wouldn't fight Pereira without getting paid. MMA fans around the world responded to this in several ways, with many making fun of Hill for refusing to fight Pereira.

But according to Bisping, Hill did the right thing. In his recent YouTube video, the UFC Hall of Famer shared his reaction to the entire incident, saying:

''Pereira threw the gloves at him and Jamahal was like, ‘What are you talking about? I’m not going to fight you here in the gym, I’m going to fight you and get paid for that'. Now, a lot of people’s opinions on social media is that Jamahal kind of bit*hed out, but I’ll be honest, I kind of agreed with his take. ...Why would you want to fight in the gym when you can get paid a ridiculous amount of money to fight for real?''

Michael Bisping says Jamahal Hill will look to silence his critics

Jamahal Hill has pushed for a rematch with Alex Pereira since UFC 300 where he was brutally knocked out by the reigning champion. He will try to earn a title shot by beating Jiri Prochazka at UFC 311 on Jan. 18.

In the aforementioned YouTube video, Michael Bisping stated that Hill will look for redemption by defeating Pereira in front of everyone, proving his doubters wrong.

''Jamahal Hill right now is under a tremendous amount of pressure because he wants to get back to winning ways, he wants to get another shot at Alex Pereira, he wants to prove to the world that ‘the reason I didn’t put those gloves on at the PI ie. because I want to fight him in an octagon and I want to beat him fair and square, and I want to get paid.’” [12:13]
