Undisputed heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk seemingly has been detained in an airport in Krakow, Poland. A video has surfaced online showing the Ukrainian world champion in handcuffs, getting escorted by authorities to an elevator. The mood didn't look so tense as Usyk seemed cooperative with the Polish police.

Oleksandr Usyk releases message to fans addressing the incident in Krakow airport
It seems all is well and the situation has been sorted out, as said by Oleksandr Usyk himself. The mild-mannered Ukrainian posted an Instagram story not long after the video surfaced, addressing the incident. However, he didn't provide any specific detail on what happened and what caused it, as it's a police matter.
Usyk said:
"Dear Friends. A misunderstanding took place. It was quickly resolved. Thanks to all who got concerned. Thanks to Ukranian diplomats for the efficient support. And respect to Polish Police for conducting their obligations with no regards to height, weight, reach, and regalia. Thanks God for everything."
As said, this is a developing story and no official word from Polish Police has been released to specify what instigated them to put the world champion in handcuffs and detain him. We'll keep our ears on the ground.
Meanwhile, Usyk was last seen in action in a historic bout with Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last May. After a grueling 12-round battle, he defeated the 'Gypsy King' via a split decision, making him the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 24 years and the first of the four-belt era. A rematch between the two is slated to take place in the same venue in December of this year.
