Du Plessis, known for his sportsmanship, has addressed psots such as these with a playful sense of humor in the past. In June 2023, a fan shared a picture of a group of African boys alongside one white boy posing by a soccer goalpost, joking that it was du Plessis. 'Stillknocks' responded with a witty remark, stating that while he wished he could be a part of that scene, he wasn't good enough at soccer to be posing with the team.

Dricus du Plessis recently trolled Themba Gorimbo after his recent comments

Zimbabwe's Themba Gorimbo suffered a first-round submission defeat against Vicente Luque at UFC 310 in December 2024. During a recent appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Gorimbo shared that some of his cousins back in his hometown celebrated his defeat. His quote was re-posted by @homeoffight on Instagram.

On the professional front, du Plessis secured his first middleweight title defense against former two-time champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 305 in August 2024.

He is now scheduled to face Sean Strickland in the UFC 312 main event, set to take place in Sydney, Australia, on Feb. 8. The fight is the rematch of their UFC 297 meeting that du Plessis won by split decision to become the middleweight champion.
