Belal Muhammad has given fans an update on his injury situation and his path back to the octagon during UFC 310 fight week and fans online are sounding off about it. Shavkat Rakhmonov was initially slated to be fighting this weekend for Muhammad's title until the latter had to withdraw.
This withdrawal stemmed from a bone infection in his foot and pulled him completely out of training. Rakhmonov maintained his spot on the Dec. 7 pay-per-view. But the undefeated pro-MMA fighter will now take on fellow unbeaten mixed martial artist Ian Machado Garry in the UFC 310 co-main event.
By way of his official X account @bullyb170, Muhammad gave the mixed martial arts world a key update in terms of his road toward returning to competition:
"We are officially cleared to start working out again!!!!"

X users responded to this post in droves, with some wondering why he isn't defending his title this weekend. Others were simply excited for Muhammad to fight the winner of Rakhmonov versus Machado Garry down the line.
@MakrSupremacy said,
"Bro strategically timing this sh*t"
@BadMMAbets stated,
"Admit it, you didn't want to cut weight during thanksgiving"
@TruthfulUfcFan quipped,
"W, Get that work in and smoke the winner of 310"

Belal Muhammad and his current role in the UFC 310 picture
Belal Muhammad is not competing this weekend as mentioned, but the reigning UFC welterweight champion will still make his presence felt during the fistic fireworks on Saturday night. During the above tweet thread, the 36-year-old kingpin at 170 pounds touched upon this situation with a fan.
X user @combatsportsguys tweeted at Muhammad and asked if the champion would be cageside at UFC 310:
"Let's get it champ! Will you be flying out to see the boys fight this weekend?"
Muhammad responded:
"Ya I'll be there"
The champion captured the welterweight title in July when he put on a dominant bell-to-bell performance against Leon Edwards. Muhammad bested 'Rocky' Edwards at UFC 304 and the first defense of his championship reign will likely take place against the UFC 310 co-main event winner.
