Ryan Garcia has, once again, drawn fan interest on social media. This time, a clip of him shadowboxing in front of former United States President Donald Trump has made the rounds. The former POTUS appears delighted as Garcia speedily demonstrates combinations.
The boxing superstar then punctuates the clip by declaring his support for Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. Naturally, fans flocked to the clip, eager to share their thoughts on Garcia's interaction with Trump. One fan pointed out that Trump appeared to enjoy Garcia's display, saying:
"Trump lowkey loved that"
Others, however, reacted negatively to the pair's encounter. Another fan wrote:
"Bruh that was cringe af"
Some fans took to mocking Garcia, with one comment incorrectly claiming, albeit jokingly, that the boxer was attempting to secure lawful permanent residency in the United States, even though Garcia is American, born in Victorville, California. Garcia himself has described feeling unaccepted by Mexican fans despite his heritage.
"Bro fighting for his green card"
Regardless, there was still support for Garcia and Trump's meeting.
"My man!!"
A collage of fan reactions can be seen below:
Garcia is currently enjoying the spoils of his jaw-dropping win over longtime rival Devin Haney. Unfortunately, 'KingRy' was unable to capture the WBC super lightweight title, which Haney holds. This, though, stemmed from a technicality, as Garcia missed weight before the bout, rendering him ineligible to win the title.
Ryan Garcia previously claimed that Donald Trump would be in attendance for his fight with Devin Haney
Ryan Garcia's social media activity before his boxing match with Devin Haney came under tremendous scrutiny due to his erratic behavior, which 'KingRy' has since claimed was merely a ruse. Perhaps this is why many didn't take him seriously when he claimed that Donald Trump would be in attendance for his fight.
Taking to X, Garcia said:
"Trump coming to the fight it's lit @realDonaldTrump @DonaldJTrumpJr"
Unfortunately for Garcia, Trump was unable to attend the event. Nevertheless, the bout with Haney couldn't have gone any better for Garcia, given the latter's weigh-in failure.
