Mexican UFC bantamweight fighter Irene Aldana suffered one of the nastiest cuts we've ever seen in her fight with Norma Dumont at Noche UFC 306 over two weeks ago. Even UFC president Dana White had to share it on social media as it looked like her forehead was hacked by a machete.
However, the vicious vixen is recovering remarkably well as the cut seemed to have nearly disappeared now. The UFC doctors are earning their keep. Aldana posted a video of her stitched-up forehead on Instagram, looking all peachy.

The cut was unfortunately caused by an accidental clash of heads in the second round against Dumont when both fighters were leaning forward in a punching exchange. The cutman tried his best to close the gash in between rounds but Aldana's face started turning into a crimson mask as soon as the third round started.
Remarkably, Aldana had a great third round as she pushed forward with urgency and even busted up Dumont's nose, slowing her down.
Irene Aldana vs. Norma Dumont at Noche UFC 306 play-by-play
The first round saw Irene Aldana plodding and stalking as Norma Dumont used her light feet to move around and piece the Mexican apart from the outside. Aldana had a tough time finding her range as Dumont kept moving around and would greet her with powerful strikes every time she was close.
The second round looked the same as Aldana couldn't land her powerful hooks inside due to her Brazilian foe's constant movement and stick-and-move strategy. A brutal exchange in the pocket saw the two clash heads which resulted in a nasty cut on the right side of Aldana's forehead.
Seeing that she's lost the first two rounds and a large cut leaking blood on her face, Aldana fought with a higher sense of urgency in the third and final rounds. This worked quite well as an elbow strike busted up Dumont's nose, significantly slowing down her movement. Despite this, the Brazilian fighter stuck to her strategy enough to win the bout via a unanimous decision.
With her win at Noche UFC 306, Dumont advanced to 12-0 in her pro career while Aldana fell to 15-8.
