When questioned about his favorite adult beverage, Bryce Mitchell revealed why he tends to avoid alcohol and why he hasn't touched those types of drinks for a long time.

'Thug Nasty' is one of the UFC's best featherweights but was unfortunately on the end of a beatdown the last time he entered the octagon. Although the Arkansas native had some good moments in the fight, it was Ilia Topuria who controlled the majority of the bout, eventually locking up an arm-triangle submission for the win.

During a recent interview, Bryce Mitchell revealed that he'd much rather prefer to drink sweet tea with a slice of lemon in it as opposed to alcohol:

"I actually don't drink alcohol... I love sweet tea. I love some lemon in it, too. It's probably been years since I drank. When I drink, dude, I just get black-out drunk, I don't even remember it, and I stopped doing it. I probably done that three or four times and that was years ago."

Being blacked out and not knowing what you're doing must be worrying. However, it must be much scarier for those around Mitchell, knowing just how easily he can do some serious damage to them with his elite jiu-jitsu and clean striking.

The 28-year-old looked almost flawless inside the octagon up until his loss to Topuria at UFC 282. Prior to his defeat, the jiu-jitsu student outclassed Edson Barboza everywhere the fight took place and added an MMA veteran to his record.

Bryce Mitchell's legacy in the sport

Although his career in the UFC has been short, and he still likely has plenty of years to go until he reaches the pinnacle of what he can achieve inside the cage, Bryce Mitchell has already put his name in the company's record books.

Aside from a Fight of the Night bonus in his clash against Bobby Moffett, the BJJ black belt picked up a performance of the night cheque and subsequent Submission of the Year for his twister finish three years ago against Matt Sayles.

In an expert display of grappling, Mitchell locked up the second-ever twister finish in the UFC in 2019, putting his name down in history. Incredibly, despite winning his next bout by decision, the prospect was moments away from yet again pulling off the rare submission in his fight with Charles Rosa.
