17-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion and ONE Championship heavyweight phenom Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida believes 20-year-old grappling phenom Kade Ruotolo will come out on top in his next match, regardless of how dangerous his next opponent is.
Kade Ruotolo will put his ONE lightweight submission grappling world title on the line against Norwegian sensation Tommy Langaker at ONE Fight Night 11: Eersel vs. Menshikov on Prime Video.
The event broadcasts live from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, June 9, and will stream absolutely free to fans in the United States and Canada via an active Amazon Prime subscription.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Almeida was asked why he thought Ruotolo would emerge victorious. The 32-year-old grappling icon offered a short but sweet response.

‘Buchecha’ said:
“I think Kade, it’s his moment right now. The best moment of his career so far.”
Almeida certainly has a point. Ruotolo has been on an absolute tear since joining ONE Championship in mid-2022.
The talented athlete posted a victory over Japanese legend Shinya Aoki in his promotional debut, then tapped out Uali Kurzhev to capture the inaugural crown just months later.
Most recently, Ruotolo bagged a unanimous decision victory over Matheus Gabriel in his first world title defense last December. He remains unbeaten in the Circle today, and so far, unchallenged.
While Langaker, a former IBJJF European Open champion, is certainly a formidable opponent, ‘Buchecha’ simply doesn’t see anyone beating the Kade Ruotolo right now.
