UFC middleweight contender Sean Strickland recently weighed in on Bud Light endorsing transgender internet celebrity Dylan Mulvaney.
Sean Strickland makes no secret of the fact that he is not a fan of the LGBTQ+ community. The UFC middleweight contender has openly criticized transgender fighter Alana McLaughlin and was suspended on Twitter for labeling transgenders mentally retarded.
Strickland also recently joined a long list of internet personalities calling for the boycott of Bud Light for endorsing transgender celebrity Dylan Mulvaney. The 32-year-old referred to an earlier time when people had to go to the moon or cure a disease to gain fame, as opposed to Mulvaney becoming famous by virtue of her personality. Sean Strickland wrote:
"What a time to be alive.... To be rich and famous you use to have to be exceptional, go to the moon, win a championship, cure a disease.... 2023 cut your dick off, wear a dress, make a tiktok and bam you're on a budlight can... America you disappoint me #BoycottBudLight"

Bud Light transgender influencer controversy: Explaining what Sean Strickland is talking about
Dylan Mulvaney initially rose to fame on TikTok for her humorous skits and mimicry. However, her followers increased substantially after she publicly came out as transgender a year ago.
The transgender icon recently partnered with Bud Light to promote the beer company’s March Madness contest. Mulvaney posted an Instagram video showing off a Bud Light can with her face on it.
This led to widespread outrage among right-wing conservative personalities, including Kid Rock. The rapper posted a video of himself shooting down Bud Light cans while sporting a 'MAGA' hat. Rock said:
"Grandpa’s feeling a little frisky today. Let me say something to all you and be as clear and concise as possible,” he says before firing at four packs of cans with a rifle and proceeding to flip off the camera. “Fuck Bud Light and fuck Anheuser-Busch. Have a terrific day.”
While they did not address the outrage directly, Bud Light's parent company Anheuser-Busch released a statement defending their choice. A spokesperson told BuzzFeed News:
"Anheuser-Busch works with hundreds of influencers across our brands as one of many ways to authentically connect with audiences across various demographics. From time to time we produce unique commemorative cans for fans and for brand influencers, like Dylan Mulvaney. This commemorative can was a gift to celebrate a personal milestone and is not for sale to the general public.”
