Caio Borralho has sent a strong message to the UFC's middleweight division. 'The Natural' locked horns against Jared Cannonier in the main event of UFC Vegas 96, which took place on Aug. 24 at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Borralho outclassed his opponent for the majority of the five-round fight and had him hurt on several occasions. The three judges scored the bout 49-45, 49-45 and 48-46 in favor of the Brazilian.
Borralho's performance impressed several MMA fighters and fans who shared their reactions on social media.

Former two-division champion Henry Cejudo hailed the 31-year-old as a new title challenger in the 185-pound division.
"Great fight! We have a new title challenger in the middleweight division! He's got it all!"
MMA journalist Marcel Dorff commented on how Borralho kept most of the fight a striking affair against Cannonier.
"What a fight!!! And what a statement from Borralho to strike for almost 25 minutes with Cannonier."
One person named Robert Whittaker, Nassourdine Imavov and Borralho as the three fighters who were more worthy of a title shot than Sean Strickland.
"What do Robert Whittaker, Nassourdine Imavov and Caio Borralho all have in common? They all deserve a title shot more than Sean Strickland."

After the fight, the Brazilian called out champion Dricus du Plessis in his post-fight octagon interview.
"You know who I want next. I've already called you out two times already. You already beat Sean [Strickland], you already beat [Israel] Adesanya, you already beat all these guys. So, Dricus du Plessis, get your a** over here or South Africa... I'm coming for you, boy!"
