Caio Borralho disagreed with former two-time middleweight champion Israel Adesanya’s claim that the 185-pound division is not exciting without him.

Adesanya is set to face Nassourdine Imavov on Feb. 1 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, headlining UFC Fight Night. This marks his first non-title fight in six years.

In a recent appearance on MMA Junkie, Adesanya was asked about his thoughts on the current state of the middleweight division. He claimed that without him, the 185-pound division feels boring, saying:

“To be honest, 185 feels boring without me. I want to go in there and just make it interesting.”

MMA Junkie shared the clip of Adesanya on Instagram, where UFC middleweight Borralho took notice of the remarks. He disagreed with Adesanya's statement and asserted that the division is boring because he doesn't have a fight booked recently. Borralho commented:

“Why boring? I know…just because i don't have a fight booked.”

Robert Whittaker praises Israel Adesanya's jiu-jitsu skills

Israel Adesanya’s former foe Robert Whittaker, with whom he fought twice in his UFC career and secured victory in both, now seems to have become his good friend. Adesanya recently shared snaps featuring ‘The Reaper’ training at his City Kickboxing gym.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani, Whittaker was asked about his recent training with the former two-time middleweight champion. The Australian then praised Adesanya's jiu-jitsu skills and asserted that he is looking forward to seeing how they translate into his next fight. Whittaker said:

"Maybe his jiu-jitsu, it's much better than people give him credit for. I'm looking forward to see how that translates into his next fight. I don't know how he's kept it on the down low for so long. It's much better than everybody gives him credit for."
