For the first time in his professional career, Callum Walsh returned to Ireland to fight in front of his home crowd. In one of the biggest boxing events on UFC Fight Pass to date, Walsh headlined a seven-fight card against Przemyslaw Runowski on Sept. 20.

Walsh entered the fight at 11-0 with nine of his wins by knockout, including his previous two. Runowski, 22-2-1, was expected to be the stiffest test of Walsh's brief career due to his experience and having only previously lost to highly respected opponents.

The fight card headlined the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

As expected, the energy in the arena peaked when Walsh walked out before the main event. 'King' was not the only fighter on the card from Ireland but was by far the most notable and clearly the fighter most fans in the crowd paid to see.

Upon his entrance, nearly the entire crowd sang along to the song resonating through the arena.

From the opening bell, Walsh's speed advantage was clear, as he quickly established his timing and distance against Runowski. The 30-year-old Pole struggled to close the distance and break the guard of the WBC Continental Americas champion, giving Walsh the first round.

Runowski was more aggressive in the second round but still looking to find his timing. Walsh appeared to be cruising for most of the round before catching his opponent clean on the chin coming in with one minute left in the frame to knock Runowski down for the first time in the fight.

Runowski struggled to regain his balance and remained down on one knee before rising to his feet, only to see the referee wave off the fight. Walsh earned his third straight knockout and second consecutive in the second round.

Remaining nonchalant after the win, Walsh thanked the local crowd for their support while simultaneously prompting UFC CEO Dana White.

Walsh improved to 12-0 with his first title defense while dropping Runowski to 22-3-1. The loss was the first for Runowski since 2021 when he challenged Michael McKinson for the WBO global welterweight belt.
