Mike Perry should have learned from the Tyreek Hill situation with police in the eyes of a former UFC middleweight stalwart. This message came in the form of a joking post on X that added to the discourse surrounding the recent arrest of Perry. Alleged DUI was at the root of the situation with the 'King of Violence' hurling homophobic slurs at the on-scene officers per released body cam footage.

Derek Brunson made the connection between Perry and NFL standout Hill to convey his message with an attempt at adding humour to the situation. Part of the joke also is rooted in a previous Perry quote where he claimed to be two percent African and for a period of time, used the N-word with a disconcerting level of frequency.

The Miami Dolphins wide receiver had been briefly detained for what was reported as a driving violation with the manner in which the officer handled the Hill situation coming under fire by many. Resharing the footage of Perry's interaction with law enforcement and referencing the Tyreek Hill situation, Brunson said:

"I can't believe my African American brother talking back to the cops. Did he not see what happened to @cheetah"

Mike Perry's first response following this arrest

Mike Perry took to his personal X platform to offer up thoughts following this recent run-in with the law. The 33-year-old has had some issues with the law in his past but Perry seemed to have been on a fairly clean streak in recent years prior to this recent episode.

'Platinum' took to his social media and in an excerpt of his first address to fans since this transpired stated:

"I am writing this to express my deepest apologies for the inappropriate and disrespectful language I used towards members of the Clermont police department. I understand that my words were hurtful and offensive, and I sincerely regret my actions."

Perry added:

"I recognize the important and often difficult work that law enforcement officers do to keep our community safe, and I truly respect the dedication and sacrifice that comes with the job."

The Michigan native had a lot of responses with many in the ensuing tweet thread mentioning how it read like a Chat GPT-generated apology. One user in fact, @mmamarcuss, posted a screenshot painting a picture that he posted the text into an AI detection site with the reported finding being that the apology was supposedly one hundred percent AI GPT generated.

Following his ufc-50-000" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-is-sponsored="false">Jake Paul defeat, a return to the ring is not definitively outlined for Mike Perry. But it seems like a BKFC bout in early 2025 is the tentative target at this juncture.
