ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama is the latest star on ONE Championship’s roster to embark on a tour on the opposite side of the world.

Some of the promotion’s biggest stars have gone over to the United States and Canada in recent years in order to host striking seminars. Seminar tours are a great way for fighters to travel the world and spread their vast knowledge and experiences to a new audience.

On top of that, it’s also massively beneficial for the locations that they choose to travel to. Not only will they receive lessons from some of the top competitors in the world, it encourages more people to pick up the sport.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Tony Manoharan, who recently hosted Nong-O at Diamond Muay Thai + Boxing in Toronto, said:

“It’s just a special experience to share with our community. Not everyone can get the chance to go to Thailand or other parts of the world to train with these megastars of the sport.”

He added:

“With a lot of hard work and coordination, we were able to collaborate with all these other gyms around Canada and people from our community, and be able to push Muay Thai forward with the help of Nong-O.”

Manoharan elaborated on the benefits that come from hosting a Muay Thai world champion:

“If people can take even one thing from these seminars, it’s beneficial to them – and helps grow our sport even more.”

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Nong-O Hama is looking like a machine ahead of his return to the circle.

At ONE Fight Night 9 on April 21, the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion will attempt to defend his title once again. At 36 years old, the veteran shows no signs of slowing down.

ONE Championship fans can see that for themselves in the recent video the defending world champion posted on his Instagram profile. In the clip, he can be seen sparring alongside former Rajadamnern Stadium champion Diesellek Muaythai.

Both fans and fellow fighters alike reacted to Nong-O’s intense sparring in the comments below the post:

@liambadco (Liam Harrison):

“Call the cops”

@artifex_joinery:

"As much as I admire The Generals skills I would be s****** my pants at the prospect of facing Nong-O"

@mikeydee53:

“Jesus Christ, it’s Jason Bourne”

With an undefeated run in ONE Championship that has now reached double figures, the bantamweight Muay Thai world champion is a real force to be reckoned with inside the circle.

Up next for the dominant titleholder is England’s Jonathan Haggerty, the former flyweight Muay Thai world champion who has recently made a move up a weight class.

At ONE Fight Night 9, Haggerty will compete in the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium for the very first time. His opponent, however, is no stranger to the legendary venue, having produced a great comeback against Alaverdi Ramazanov inside the hallowed ring last time out.
