Journalist Mike Coppinger recently dismissed Eddie Hearn's comments about Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua being the biggest commercial fight today and claimed that Canela Alvarez fighting Terence Crawford could pull bigger numbers. Given the high-profile nature of the boxers involved, it's no surprise that fans were left divided.
In a recent statement, the Matchroom Boxing frontman called for a Fury-Joshua fight and claimed the heavyweight affair would make an unmatched amount of money. Responding to his comments in an X post, Coppinger pushed for a Canelo-Crawford fight and wrote:
"Canelo-Crawford is much bigger commercially. Miles bigger. It will easily eclipse 1 million PPV buys in the U.S. at $80 [or around there] and will pull in a gate above $20 million. Sorry, @EddieHearn."
Soon after, fans flocked to the post's comments section and shared their thoughts on the matter.

"Only in the USA. Crawford is literally unknown outside of boxing. I’m a huge fan, but that’s a fact. Most people only heard his name once when he had his only big fight with Spence and won. He’s not a superstar. Both Joshua and Fury are. And they are always in the news worldwide."

Canelo Alvarez talks potential "easy money" Conor McGregor fight this year
Last September, Canelo Alvarez opened up about a potential Conor McGregor fight and expressed an interest in fighting the Irishman. The pound-for-pound great also made it clear that he doesn't see McGregor posing a threat to him and shared his prediction for the potential bout.
Speaking to Manouk Akopyan in an interview, Alvarez was asked for his opinion on fighting the former two-division UFC champion. He answered:
"Yeah, why not. And then we show boxing is better...Easy, easy. Way easy money... [About his predicted KO] Anytime I want. One round, two rounds, three rounds, whatever I want."
