Chael Sonnen has always been known amongst the MMA community for having a way with words. From cutting now iconic promos to some of the smartest and most engaging trash talk we've seen, Sonnen's ability to talk himself into the picture is second to none.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Sonnen revealed the smooth pick-up line he used on wife when they met all that time ago. Chael used something of a parlor trick to get her phone number.

Sonnen revealed that he tricked her to get her number. He said:

"I went up to her and I said, can I use your phone? My phone is dead. I gotta make a phone call. She loaned me phone, and I called myself. My phone wasn't dead. I felt it vibrate. I texted her back immediately and said careful who you loan your phone to, there are a lot of crazies out there. Had the number. Took her out the next night, told her I'm gonna marry you."

Chael Sonnen weighs in on Endeavor's acquisition of the WWE

Chael Sonnen took to his official YouTube channel to react to the news that Endeavor, the parent company of the UFC, had acquired a majority and controlling stake in the WWE.

Speaking on the merger, he said:

"To watch the entire thing unfold, was quite incredible. I used to know more about the WWE, I got out at 33 dollars, I got in at 8 dollars...man that sends me back a lot of years. Today, it's gone up to 90 plus dollars." (4:45)

Chael's opinion is particularly important, as he drew a lot of inspiration from WWE throughout the course of his career. Most famously known for playing the heel, a-la Colby Covington today, Sonnen often used the mic to go on over-the-top rants and make grand callouts that were very common in WWE.

He went on to say he is excited about the merger, but belives that fighting should be fighting, and wrestling should be wrestling. Chael also suggests that such a merger may lead to increased fighter pay, by way of cross-promotional appearances and the like.
