The MMA community finally has an explanation for Chael Sonnen's expletive-laced tirade against UFC CEO Dana White, Conor McGregor, and several other UFC stars.

Sonnen took to his YouTube channel to speak his piece on the viral tweets, claiming that his account was "hacked." The American also highlighted that this was not the first time his X account was hacked. He shed light on the consequences of the attack, the reasoning behind the hacker's motive, and an account of how he tackled the "annoying" situation previously.

However, the demands of the alleged hacker this time around stumped Sonnen as he narrated the events involving the "friendly hacker." He said:

"I’ve been hacked. Well, I’ve been hacked by a friendly hacker. Like, the hacker himself has got a hold of me to let me know that it is him, and that if I would like the passwords back, all I need to do is say to him ‘I would like the passwords back’.”

However, Sonnen asserted that the hacker's demand may have simply been the "tip of the iceberg," as he started peeling back the layers of an alleged hidden agenda. He continued:

“So, though it was a friendly enough hack, not demanding Bitcoin, by the way, not demanding anything, not demanding an apology, not demanding I learned my lesson for this that, and the other, just let him know and he will give it back. And this case being a little different that I have had some people reach out to me about tweets that are going out to where an explanation was needed, to where I bothered them."

Sonnen added that he couldn't wrap his head around the distributed word that the tweets were posted by him. While he called the hackers "very skilled," he simply couldn't comprehend the "rush" behind pretending to be someone else.

When Chael Sonnen claimed that the UFC would be "in trouble" without Dana White

Former UFC middleweight title challenger Chael Sonnen painted a picture of what the UFC would look like if UFC CEO Dana White stepped down from his position.

Speaking in an interview with MMA Fighting Sonnen was asked to weigh in on being viewed as a potential replacement for White eventually. He claimed that it wouldn't be the best-case scenario under those circumstances, asserting that it would take five people to fill the void he leaves. He said:

“It is something they might recover from. They might find an answer, but it is going to take five people to do what Dana does… I don’t ever want to see him go, I will tell you that. This is my No. 1 sport that I’m a fan of and they got the right guy at the helm.”
