ONE CEO and chairman Chatri Sityodtong is stoked for the future of ONE Championship in Brazil.
Late last year, ONE signed a multi-annual deal with Globo’s Combate, Brazil’s “premium provider of combat sports content and pay-per-views.” The broadcasting enterprise, which boasts 200 million viewers, will begin airing ONE events live in Brazilian primetime, starting this month.
Not only is this good news for sports fans in Brazil, but also for the Brazilian athletes on the roster, including ONE heavyweight prospect and BJJ legend Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida.
While ‘Buchecha’ was doing an on-road interview with MMA Hoje, Chatri Sityodtong sent him a video message through Raphael Auada’s phone, expressing his excitement for the future of ONE in Brazil.

The CEO promised the Brazilian fanbase:
“We’re gonna blow up Brazil, we’re gonna put Brazil on the world map with our phenomenal athletes like Fabricio Andrade, ‘Buchecha’, we got so many amazing Brazilian athletes and world champions. You’re gonna see Brazil explode in a new and different way.”

This week at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video, Brazil’s very own BJJ black belt Gilberto Galvao will feature in a catchweight MMA bout with Myanmar legend Aung La N Sang.
Up ahead in February at ONE Fight Night 7, another pair of Brazilians are booked to headline in an explosive main event. For the second time, ONE bantamweights ‘Hands of Stone’ John Lineker and ‘Wonder Boy’ Fabricio Andrade will battle each other for the vacant bantamweight belt.
Finally, with the first-ever US event up ahead, Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida is campaigning for a spot on the American card. There’s a big chance of seeing him represent both Brazil and the US in a bout for the ONE heavyweight world title.
Chatri Sityodtong: “ONE just got even bigger!”
After ONE announced its newest partnership with Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium, Chatri Sityodtong didn’t stop there.
Working with one of Latin America’s leading sports broadcasting networks, Globo, the CEO proudly announced an exclusive multi-year partnership with its biggest combat sports channel, Combate.
Back in October, along with the press release, Chatri Sityodtong wrote in his blog:
“BREAKING NEWS: ONE just got even bigger! I am thrilled to announce that Globo is the new home of ONE in Brazil!”
Rafael Gruenbaum, Head of Combate, said in the press release:
“The agreement with ONE Championship, which brings incredible live events and a great roster of Brazilian athletes, reinforces Combate’s objective in giving our Brazilian audience the very best of combat sports. We are very pleased with this partnership with ONE. It’s a great step in a path of expanding our portfolio to all martial arts.”
