ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong believes 'Smokin' Jo Nattawut did enough to leave the sold-out Impact Arena with the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world championship.

After taking Tawanchai to the limit at ONE Fight Night 15 in October, Nattawut earned a shot at the champ's 26 pounds of gold in the ONE 167 headliner on this past Friday, June 7.

Once again, 'Smokin' Jo went toe-to-toe with Tawanchai and, in the eyes of many, did enough to dethrone the Thai superstar. However, the judges didn't see it that way, awarding the victory to Tawanchai via a majority decision.

Speaking on the decision during the ONE 167 post-fight press conference, Sityodtong offered his take on the fight and teased a potential trilogy between the two.

"I thought Jo Natatwut won," Sityodtong said. "It was a very close fight, very close. I thought Jo did enough to win. For me, it would have gone to damage, and Tawanchai had more damage on him than Jo did. But, I want to do a rematch in Atlanta. That’s the home of where Jo Nattawut is. That would be amazing."

U.S. fans won't have to wait for Tawanchai vs Jo Nattawut III at ONE 170 to get their fight fix

ONE Championship will head to Atlanta, Georgia for the first time ever on Friday, November 8 as the promotion invades the State Farm Arena for what is sure to be another history-making night of action on martial arts' biggest global platform.

Though ONE 170 and a potential trilogy fight between Tawanchai and Jo Nattawut are still quite a ways away, fans in the United States won't have to wait long to get their ONE Championship fix.

On Friday, September 6, the promotion will return to The Mile High City — Denver, Colorado — for a loaded ONE 168 card, including a massive clash in the art of eight limbs.

Reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty will put his belt on the line against reigning flyweight kickboxing titleholder 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9.
