Chatri Sityodtong hints at ONE Championship’s possible return to U.S. soil later this year

ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong is already plotting his organization’s next show in the U.S., following a successful on-ground debut card, ONE Fight Night 10, which delivered across all spectrums.

The 11-fight bill on Friday, May 5, treated the North American audience to a variety of martial arts – mixed martial arts, submission grappling, and Muay Thai contests – wrapped up with a world title matchup in each of those disciplines.

Speaking at the ONE Fight Night 10 post-event press conference, the lifelong martial artist said:

“So yeah, I think you will see, we already have huge fans in the U.S. I’m not ready to break [the] news now, but we have huge plans in the U.S. We want to sit down with Amazon and make sure it’s aligned to what they want and go from there.”

Mikey Musumeci defended his ONE flyweight submission grappling world title with a clinical rear-naked choke against Osamah Almarwai at 8:03 into the contest before Rodtang Jitmuangnon defended his flyweight Muay Thai crown with a cracking knockout of Edgar Tabares.

In the main event of the stacked card, Demetrious Johnson defended his ONE flyweight world title with a dominant performance against Adriano Moraes, taking home the unanimous decision after an exciting 25-minute war.

The watching world and the sold-out crowd inside 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, certainly loved every moment of the bill. And with that in mind, Chatri Sityodtong hopes to bring another night of martial arts perfection to North America – possibly by the end of the year.

In the same interview, Chatri Sityodtong shared:

“But I think you’re going to see more shows on-ground, possibly this year or next year. For sure next year, possibly this year.”
