Fight fans are in for an action-packed treat when interim champion Janet Todd and reigning ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues collide later this week, ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong assured.
The two top atomweight striking stars will battle in a unification bout at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on March 24 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
During the pre-event press conference held on Thursday, Sityodtong said that fans should brace themselves for a “technical mastery of striking” in the Todd-Rodrigues showdown:
“Allycia versus Janet is going to be technical mastery of striking at the very highest world championship levels. Both are world champions. Both are unbelievably technical, but also unbelievably powerful – massive power. I'm debating in my mind if this is gonna go five rounds as an absolute war or if it's going to end in the championship rounds.”

He continued:
“I'm gonna go with my gut, which is it's going to enter the championship rounds, but it's going to be a barnburner. Super highly technical fighters.”
At ONE Fight Night 8, Janet Todd is looking to become a full-fledged two-sport ONE world champion. 'JT' is also the reigning ONE atomweight kickboxing queen.
Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, meanwhile, is making her first title defense since becoming champion in August 2020. She defeated former division champion Stamp Fairtex to ascend to the throne before taking a break to give birth and take care of her son.
