Demetrious Johnson already established his reputation as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, but ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong believes the American legend is more than his lofty status.
During the ONE Fight Night 10 post-event press conference, Sityodtong said it’s Johnson’s mastery of practically every art form that makes him such a unique contender for the Greatest of All Time debate.
Sityodtong added that the reigning ONE flyweight world champion will not turn down a fight and will face anyone put in front of him.

He said:
“That’s what makes DJ special. He’ll fight anybody, everywhere, under any rule set. You tell me what other athlete will do that. That’s why again when you say GOAT, you got to strip away the marketing. Strip away the rhetoric. All the organizations, including us, we obviously do marketing, but you got to strip that away and look at the skillset. Ask expert martial artists, and they will tell you this guy is the GOAT.”
Johnson, whose 11 straight defenses of the UFC flyweight world title is a record in the promotion, quickly established his dominance in ONE Championship the moment he arrived.
He started his run in ONE Championship with three straight wins to claim the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Championship.
‘Mighty Mouse’ even beat ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon, considered by many as the most ferocious striker on the planet, in a mixed-rules bout in 2022 at ONE X.
Johnson then had an exhilarating rivalry with Adriano Moraes for the ONE flyweight world title. Though he dropped the first match of the trilogy, the 36-year-old further solidified his prominence when he won the next two.
In front of a capacity crowd at 1stBank Center in Colorado, Johnson closed his rivalry with Moraes with a dominant unanimous decision win in the main event of ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III on Prime Video.
The trilogy bout between the rivals, as well as the entire ONE Fight Night 10 card, is available on replay for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
