Ahead of ONE Friday Fights 34, ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon has come under some criticism.

In the build-up to his dream fight with Superlek Kiatmoo9, ‘The Iron Man’ has spoken openly and honestly about his lack of dedication in recent times.

For his last contest at ONE Fight Night 10 in May, the defending champion admitted he trained for just two days to prepare himself for the fight.

On the flip side of that, his upcoming opponent is known for his relentless training as he aims to prove himself as the best striker on the planet today.

In an interview with the South China Morning Post Martial Arts, ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong spoke about his reaction to the lack of dedication that Rodtang has shown.

While he is expected to raise his game for one of the biggest fights of his career, it can’t be denied that the Thai superstar has not been taking his career as seriously as people would expect from one of the best in the world:

“And so, I think it’s widely known that Rodtang doesn't train very hard ever since he won the World Title in ONE Championship. He hasn't been razor sharp, he hasn't trained every day, he's, you know, again when you have a two-day training camp that's pretty insane to me. That was shocking to me actually. Whereas, Superlek is known to be very disciplined or Nong-O Hama, they’re very, very disciplined. They train day in and day out whether they have a fight or not. And so, you know, to each his own.”
