Chatri Sityodtong wants ONE to host an event in Korea "this year"

ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong is determined to see the promotion brought to a wider live audience this year, including one in the Republic of Korea.

The executive said that talks are still ongoing for ONE to host an event in Korea and they are hoping that things fall in place to make this dream a reality.

Chatri Sityodtong shared with SCMP MMA in a recent interview:

“I still want to do a Korea event. This is something I really want to do, and I want to do it this year. So I can tell you that if a few of our big discussions that are going on right now are conclusive, then we will throw a big Korea event. It’s definitely on the plans.”

While most of the promotion's events have been held in Southeast Asia since its inception in 2011, ONE Championship, in the past few years has been active in bringing its world-class action to places outside of it.

The promotion has hosted a couple of shows in Japan and is now headed to host ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video, which is its first-ever on-ground live event in the United States.

A number of Republic of Korea athletes are doing well in ONE, among them are No. 2 atomweight contender Ham Seo Hee and former ONE lightweight world champion Ok Rae Yoon.

ONE Championship announces sell out of ONE Fight Night 10 card in Colorado

ONE Championship’s groundbreaking event in the United States in May will go down in front of a sold-out arena, the promotion announced recently.

ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video will take place on May 5 at 1stBank Center in Denver, Colorado, U.S.A. It is the first-ever live on-ground event hosteb by ONE in North America.

Company CEO Chatri Sityodtong recently delivered the news on Instagram that tickets for the U.S. show were already sold-out, a little over a month away from its staging.

Chatri Sityodtong wrote in the post:

“SOLD OUT!!! ONE’s debut in the US on May 5 in Denver, Colorado is officially SOLD OUT! Thank you to our American fans for your love and support!”

ONE Fight Night 10 will feature three world title fights, led by the trilogy fight between ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson and former division king Adriano 'Mikinho' Moraes.

The other world title showdowns feature ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon against Mexican challenger Edgar Tabares, and ONE flyweight submission grappling world title holder Mikey Musumeci versus Yemeni challenger Osamah Almarwai.

ONE Fight Night 10 will be aired live and for free to all North American fans with an active Prime Video subscription.
