The night did not go well for Askhabov as he was outclassed by his opponent for the majority of the contest. The fight went the full fifteen minutes and Emmers broke the 28-year-old's undefeated streak with a unanimous decision victory. All three judges scored the bout 30-27 in favor of 'Prettyboy'.
In his post-fight octagon interview with Paul Felder, Emmers got a little emotional and gave a motivating speech. The 33-year-old also expressed interest in competing on the UFC 287 card that is expected to take place in Miami, Florida.
"Words can't describe it. I just went through a lot. Life kicked my b*tt, taught me some lessons. This fight was just 15 minutes. I gave all 15 minutes I have but outside of the cage, I had to fight every day. So, these 15 minutes were heaven to me... I wanna fight back in Miami, in my hometown. So, you know, Sean Shellby... let me get on that."
