ONE Championship kicked off its 2023 with ONE Fight Night 6, a blockbuster event live from Bangkok, Thailand. With three world championship matches and some of the promotion’s biggest stars in action, January 13 was a night to remember.
In the main event, Chingiz Allazov produced the best performance of his career by stopping Superbon to become the new featherweight kickboxing world champion.
In the co-main event, meanwhile, a new flyweight kickboxing world champion was crowned when Superlek defeated Daniel Puertas vía unanimous decision ti win the vacant belt.
Elsewhere, once again showcasing ONE’s growing submission grappling roster, Mikey Musumeci defended his flyweight world championship with a unanimous decision win over Gantumur Bayanduuren.

Elsewhere on the card, three of the biggest combat sports names in Asia picked up victories to kick-off their years in style. Rodtang Jitmaungnon, Stamp Fairtex and Aung La N Sang started 2023 as they mean to go on, having their hands raised in front of the fans in Bangkok.

Alistair Overeem spotted Circleside at ONE Fight Night 6
Whilst the fights delivered, one of the biggest talking points surrounding ONE Fight Night 6 was the sighting of Alistair Overeem. The Dutchman was one of the high-profile spectators in attendance on January 13 in Bangkok, Thailand.
‘The Demolition Man’ was spotted cageside for ONE’s first event of the year, which saw two new kickboxing world champions crowned in Chingiz Allazov (featherweight) and Superlek Kiatmoo9 (flyweight).

Overeem's presence at the event added further speculation to the rumor that he could be stepping inside the circle at some point in the near future. Overeem is currently competing in kickboxing with Glory.
It has been reported that Alistair Overeem has reached out to ONE officials, expressing interest in potentially competing in the recently announced US$1 million Openweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix that the promotion will be staging this year.
The tournament will gather 16 of the world’s best strikers, regardless of their weight divisions. With the potential for fans to see dream fights that couldn’t happen under regular circumstances.
Apart from Glory, Overeem competed in kickboxing with Dream and K-1, and mixed martial arts with Strikeforce and the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is yet to compete professionally in Muay Thai.
