Newly crowned ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Chingiz Allazov is out for another title belt and is specifically eyeing the one held by lightweight king Regian ‘The Immortal’ Eersel.

Immediately after winning the featherweight kickboxing gold over former champion Superbon Singha Mawynn at ONE Fight Night 6 on January 13 in Bangkok, ‘Chinga’ called out Eersel for the lightweight kickboxing and Muay Thai world titles.

Speaking during his in-circle post-fight interview, Chingiz Allazov, who also won a US$50,000 performance bonus for his dominant win over Superbon, said:

“Thank you Mr. Chatri [Sityodtong], thank you ONE Championship and guys, you know, I like a second belt to go [with this] you know. Maybe I fight 77 kilos. This guy, I don’t know his name. Eersel, yes. Yes I like this, we will do this, go!

Eersel has been the ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion since 2019 and has had four successful title defenses so far. He added a second title belt under Muay Thai in October last year at ONE on Prime Video 3 by defeating Sinsamut Klinmee by a split decision.

By going after the Eersel’s lightweight world title belts, Chingiz Allazov is looking to extend what has been an eventful last year and a half that has seen him win the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix before emerging as the new featherweight king in the sport.

ONE Championship shares Chingiz Allazov’s journey from childhood to world champion

Chingiz Allazov went through a lot before becoming ONE Championship’s newest world champion in featherweight kickboxing.

In the lead-up to ONE Fight Night 6 on January 13, where ‘Chinga’ defeated Superbon Singha Mawynn to seize the featherweight kickboxing gold, the promotion shared on Instagram the journey Allazov had en route to where he is right now in combat sports.

The post read:

"[Chingiz Allazov] started training Muay Thai at 10 years old for self defense. Went 204-3 as an amateur and won every tournament he competed in. Claimed the K-1 World Championship twice after turning pro. Lost a close split decision to German star Enriko Kehl in his ONE debut."

It continued:

"Reached the ONE featherweight kickboxing world grand prix championship final with two 1st-round knockouts. Won the prestigious tournament by defeating 8-time world champion Sittichai Sitsongpeenong. He faces Superbon in Thailand on January 13 for the ONE featherweight kickboxing world title."

Allazov emerged triumphant over Superbon in the title showdown in Bangkok, displaying tremendous punching power that sent his Thai opponent three times and falling to a second-round knockout defeat. His monster win earned him a US$50,000 performance bonus from ONE Championship.

He is now keen on adding another world title, eyeing the lightweight kickboxing and Muay Thai belts held by Regian ‘The Immortal’ Eersel.
