New ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Chingiz Allazov is already looking for his first world title defense after putting away pound-for-pound great Superbon Singha Mawynn.
Allazov made history by dethroning Superbon in spectacular fashion in their ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video main event to kick off ONE Championship’s 2023.
During the post-fight press conference, Allazov shared his thoughts on the status of the featherweight division and who could be next in line for a ONE world title opportunity:
“Sitthichai and Superbon are different types of fighters. I have big respect for Sitthichai. I have big respect for Superbon. But now I think Sitthichai will fight Grigorian and whoever wins will face me. Maybe Petrosyan will fight with Grigorian, no problem. I’ll wait for whoever wins this fight. I’ll fight with them. I like this fight. I will focus 100 percent. For me, no problem with any opponent.”

Chingiz Allazov has already earned a victory over Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong as part of the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix final last year. That victory earned ‘Chinga’ the opportunity to challenge Superbon for the featherweight crown.
Now at the top of the division, potential bouts against fighters such as Giorgio Petrosyan and Marat Grigorian loom large for Allazov and kickboxing fans around the world.

Chingiz Allazov rules out a potential move to Muay Thai after conquering kickboxing
With many ONE Championship stars eager to test their skills in multiple sports, Chingiz Allazov is content to continue dominating the world of kickboxing. Following his second-round knockout of Superbon at ONE Fight Night 6, Allazov discussed his future during the post-fight press conference, saying:
"Me going to Muay Thai is another situation. I don’t like it. Maybe I won’t focus 100 percent on this style. I don’t like fighting in other styles. We’ve had many fights in Muay Thai, but for 11 years, I haven’t fought in Muay Thai. I talked to my coach about this, you know, maybe we like this. But no. I say we focus only 100 percent now [on kickboxing]."
With his victory over Superbon, Chingiz Allazov now finds himself as the top pound-for-pound kickboxer in the world. It looks like he plans on maintaining that spot for the foreseeable future, but should ‘Chinga’ get the itch to test his skills in the art of eight limbs once again, the kickboxing king will have plenty of challengers lining up for the opportunity to give him a proper welcome.
