Chingiz Allazov is grateful to Tiger Muay Thai helping him become the ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion.

There is always an entire team of coaches and managers behind a world-champion fighter. The same goes for Allazov, who recently made his dreams come true by defeating Superbon at ONE Fight Night 6. During an interview with SCMP MMA, ‘Chinga’ praised Tiger Muay Thai for their contributions by saying:

“Yes, I say thank you very much Tiger Muay Thai. They supported me and my team. But I train all the time with my coach, Andrei Gridin. Tiger Muay Thai gave me the place and Phuket Fight Club. I love the Thai atmosphere. The boss at Tiger Muay Thai said that if I win the belt, he will put a big picture [of me] in Tiger Muay Thai. He stayed in the arena, and I saw him. So we will see if he puts my picture with the belt.”

Although Thai gyms sometimes get a bad reputation for exploiting fighters, Tiger Muay Thai has helped change many fighters’ lives by assisting them to evolve. Allazov doesn’t train in Thailand full-time, but the Thai atmosphere could have been the last element needed for him to become the ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion.

Chingiz Allazov is interested in fighting Regian Eersel at lightweight

Chingiz Allazov’s knockout win against Superbon has catapulted the 29-year-old into superstardom. As a result, he is being considered for super-fights outside his division. One name attached to ‘Chinga’ is two-sport world champion Regian Eersel, who fights at lightweight. During the same interview with SCMP MMA, Allazov had this to say about potentially fighting Eersel:

“I like this fight. For me, no problem if my opponent is 77 kilos. I’m ready. I have power and he has power. I have another game plan for him. If ONE Championship gives me this fight, all right. Let’s do this.”

Eersel has been unbeatable through eight ONE Championship appearances, including a 7-0 kickboxing record and a 1-0 Muay Thai record. The 30-year-old currently holds the lightweight title in ONE for both disciplines. It’ll be intriguing to see Allazov look to overcome a size disadvantage and give ‘The Immortal’ his first loss.
