The last year of Chingiz Allazov’s career has been a furious itinerary of country-hopping. But now, it’s time to retreat for a break to the comfort of his home and family.
He’s fought four times in the last 15 months through three rounds of the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix, which led to his world title showdown with former titleholder Superbon Singha Mawynn last weekend.
In the ONE Fight Night 6 post-fight press conference, the new world champion gave a rundown of his travels, including a tease to try out ONE’s lightweight division:
We have another plan now. Okay, I say 77 kilos. But then I want to go home. For two months, I didn't celebrate the New Year with my family. A month ago during the New Year, I stayed in Manila, Philippines. For two weeks in December, I stayed in Manila. And after, we stayed one month. After a month, we stayed in Thailand. We changed all our focus in this fight. I focused my mind on it. My coach stayed with me, my mother stayed with me, my team stayed with me, but I haven't seen my family."

As for what’s next for Chingiz Allazov, here’s what he had to say:
"Now I go to my family and rest. Focus on my family, my daughter and stay with my coach, my team and after that we will talk about the future."
Allazov resides in Minsk, Belarus, training at Gridin Gym. Still, in the midst of his athletic prime at 29, the break can give the division some time to rebuild and reset after his destructive tear through the ranks.
Chingiz Allazov credits superior focus for win over Superbon
Chingiz Allazov looked near perfect in his resounding win over Superbon Singha Mawynn last weekend in ONE Fight Night 6’s main event, and according to him, that’s no accident.
At the event’s post-fight press conference, Chingiz Allazov revealed the key ingredient behind his success in the world title fight:
“We fought Superbon after I took one or two years to focus 100 percent. Everyday I trained, with my mind only focused on the fight. For me, my opponent is not a problem. I always train hard for every fight. But mentally [for this fight], I was 100 percent, and [that’s why] I won.”
Even before the fight, Allazov had been touting his focus in an interview with ONE Championship.
'Chinga' was able to knock out Superbon with an overhand right in round two, but the fight was moving that way from the start. Chingiz Allazov nearly had Superbon finished in the first round, causing more damage with each successive combination.
The win was Chingiz Allazov’s third knockout in five fights under the ONE Championship banner and his fourth straight win.
