In a recent statement, Chris Eubank Jr. expressed regret for his disparaging words directed towards prominent boxing promoters during the prefight press conference for the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol fight. This prompted a response from Frank Warren, who, accepted Eubank Jr.'s apology and expressed regret for any hurtful remarks made by the founder of Queensberry promotions to the British boxer.

Eubank Jr. is set to face Kamil Szeremeta in the co-main event of the Beterbiev vs. Bivol fight on Oct. 12 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. During their prefight press conference, the 35-year-old, who recently signed with Boxxer as his new promoter, was asked about his decision behind it. Eubank Jr. responded by going off against Warren and Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, who were seated behind him:

''Because every other promoter up here is a scumbag. Frank Warren behind me has been lying and cheating his way through boxing for the last couple of decades...Eddie Hearn, Frank Smith, they did everything they could to make this fight against Conor Benn knowing that he was on steroids. Scumbags.''

However, in a recent turn of events, boxing journalist Michael Benson took to X and reported that both Eubank Jr., alongside Warren released statements following the press conference.

Eubank Jr. apologized for his remarks against Warren and Hearn, writing:

''Following today's press conference for the historic Riyadh Season event on October 12, I would like to retract my inaccurate statements and offer my apologies to Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn and Kalle Sutherland. I now wish to focus purely on my boxing and preparing for a huge fight in Riyadh next month."

In response, Warren wrote:

"I accept Chris's apology and retraction. I too have said things before and apologise to him also if any criticism of him has upset him in the past. I look forward to seeing him compete on this huge Riyadh Season card. We look ahead to some potentially massive bouts in the future."

Chris Eubank Jr. previews Kamil Szeremeta clash

Chris Eubank Jr. hasn't competed since his TKO victory against Liam Smith in September last year. Eubank Jr. will now make his way back to the squared circle when he faces Kamil Szeremeta on the undercard of the Dmitry Bivol vs. Artur Beterbiev fight.

In a recent interview with The George Groves Boxing Club, Eubank Jr. expressed his thoughts on the Szeremeta matchup:

''He's [Szeremeta] not a huge name but I've been out of the ring for a year. We needed somebody that I could get back in there...as somebody that knows what he's doing, 25 wins, only two losses against two world champions, that's not somebody to to to sniff at.''
