Two-division world champion Christian Lee believes ONE Championship’s weekly events at the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok will help the promotion grow into an even bigger global juggernaut in the world of combat sports.
Kicking off on Friday, January 20, ONE Championship will begin a year-long venture with the iconic venue to bring ONE Lumpinee, starting with perhaps the greatest Muay Thai world champion in the world today, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, in the main event.
Sharing his thoughts on the new weekly venture with the promotion, Christian Lee believes giving fans something to look forward to every week will help ONE continue to grow:
“I feel that’s extremely important to just have something regular that the fans can set on their schedule to tune in to ONE Championship every week they’re putting on shows. So I think that it’s gonna be really good for the company to just have a regular show, a weekly show, for fans to get into the habit of just turning on ONE Championship every week, it’s definitely gonna grow their fanbase.”

In the first ONE Lumpinee main event, Nong-O will defend his bantamweight Muay Thai world championship against No. 2 ranked contender, Alaverdi ‘Babyface Killer’ Ramazanov. Earning three straight victories in Muay Thai competition, the former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion earned his shot at Muay Thai gold after avenging his lone loss since December 2019 against Capitan Petchyindee via split decision.
Christian Lee is excited about ONE Championship’s other big expansion in 2023
As excited as Christian Lee is for ONE Championship’s deal with Lumpinee Stadium, ‘The Warrior’ is perhaps even more thrilled about the promotion’s debut in the United States later this year.
Announced late last year, ONE will head to the mainland for the very first time on May 5, bringing fans a highly-anticipated trilogy bout between flyweight king Demetrious Johnson and former titleholder Adriano Moraes.
Sharing his enthusiasm for ONE Championship’s North American debut, Lee said:
“It’s exciting. I’m so glad that ONE Championship is finally coming to the U.S. They’ve been doing so great, completely dominating in Asia. And now with the Amazon Prime deal touching down in the U.S., I think that it’s a big time for ONE Championship.”
The event, dubbed ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video, will undoubtedly feature some of the biggest names in the promotion as ONE Championship invades the 1stBank Center in Colorado. Who would you like to see appear at ONE’s U.S. debut?
