At ONE on Prime Video 4, Christian Lee is daring to be great by moving up a weight class and facing Kiamrian Abbasov. ‘The Warrior’ will look to add a second world championship to his shoulder as he competes for the ONE welterweight world title.
His opponent on November 18 will be returning to welterweight after attempting the same feat at middleweight. Abbasov moved up a division in February to try and claim one of two-division world champion Reinier de Ridder’s belts. However, he came up short, losing via arm triangle in the third round.
Ahead of their clash, Christian Lee broke down his upcoming opponent's bid for double-champion status on the MMA Junkie Podcast.
‘The Warrior’ said:

“I think that even if [Reinier] de Ridder was to fight [Kiamrian] Abbasov at welterweight if he was able to make that weight limit, I think that he would have still won the fight. So then it comes down to just being a better fighter on that given night and having a better strategy. So de Ridder just closed the distance, he was able to take him down and out-grapple him in every round until he got the finish.”
Similar to Abbasov’s own attempt, it will take an impressive performance from Christian Lee if he is to become a simultaneous multi-weight world champion. He comes into the fight after recently avenging his loss to Ok Rae Yoon and winning back the ONE lightweight world championship.
Fans can't wait for Christian Lee vs. Kiamrian Abbasov
MMA fans around the world are feeling the excitement build up ahead of ONE on Prime Video 4. In the main event, lightweight king Christian Lee will move up a weight class to face the division’s titleholder, Kiamrian Abbasov.
You don’t have to look far on Twitter to find people who cannot wait any longer for fight night:
#AndNew! Bring it home to Hawaii!!!🔥🔥🔥“
“Pound for pound king!“
“#ANDNEW LG!!!! Christian“
“Always a fan, go champ. Sending support from down under Australia 🇦🇺 👏❤️“
Christian Lee is making a swift comeback to the circle after producing a great performance in his last fight in August.
Avenging his controversial loss to Ok Rae Yoon, Lee won back the ONE lightweight world championship and told ONE how he couldn’t turn down the offer to add another world title to his trophy cabinet:
“Well, initially, after claiming my title back, it sounded really nice to take some time off. But an opportunity like this is really just too big of a moment to let it just pass me by. And fighting for a second world title, and a second weight division has always been a dream of mine since I started this sport.”
At just 24 years old, Lee will attempt to become the latest two-division world champion in the promotion when he faces Abbasov on November 18.
All the action will be broadcast live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium and free for US viewers with a Prime subscription.
