It’s over a month since Christian Lee was proclaimed double-world champion back in November at ONE on Prime Video 4. Surreal as it is for Lee, he’s proud of what he’s been able to accomplish in the sport despite his age and experience.
After avenging his first world title loss against South Korean lightweight, Ok Rae Yoon, at ONE 160, Lee didn’t pass on the opportunity to move up a weight class and challenge Kiamrian Abbasov for the welterweight crown.
Beating the odds again by way of knockout, ‘The Warrior’ is proud of what he’s been able to accomplish in the promotion in a short span of time.
He told ONE Championship:

“It feels great to be a two-division champion. My goal was always to win a World Title, defend the belt, and then claim a second World Title. I’ve done all of those things so far, and it feels so great to be pretty early in my career in the fight game and still be able to accomplish all of those achievements.”
Christian Lee began his MMA journey with ONE Championship at the young age of 17, splashing headlines with an epic first-round KO against Australia’s David Meak in his promotional debut. Despite following up the win with four straight finishes, success didn’t always come without its hurdles.
Losing to Martin Nguyen twice in his bid at featherweight gold, Lee ultimately found his footing in the lightweight division, where he defeated MMA legend Shinya Aoki in May 2019 for the world title. Since then, Lee has remained unstoppable. He looks forward to breaking more personal records and raising the bar even higher.

Christian Lee open to fighting a UFC champion in a cross-promotional superfight
Fans continue to stoke the flames for a possible cross-promotional matchup between Christan Lee and current UFC lightweight world champion, Islam Makhachev.
After his come-from-behind victory at ONE on Prime Video 4, Christian Lee respectfully called-out Makhachev in a bid to see who is the No.1 lightweight in the world. The Kyrgyzstani fighter has a phenomenal MMA record of 23-1 and 11 straight wins in the UFC.
Considered to be one of the most dangerous wrestlers since Khabib Nurmagomedov, Makhachev is a challenge that Lee is willing to take in a cross-promotional super fight.
Speaking to SCMP MMA, ‘The Warrior’ said:
“I know [Makhachev] would be down for a fight like that, he’s a true competitor like myself. But then it just comes down to the promotions, if they can come together and make a fight like that happen, because it would be huge.”
