Christian Lee hails Aung La N Sang for defending his two world titles, plans to emulate ‘The Burmese Python’

ONE superstar Christian Lee now owns two world titles—and he plans on defending both of them—similar to how Aung La N Sang did a few years back.

'The Burmese Python' won and defended the middleweight and light heavyweight titles before Reinier de Ridder wrestled both belts away from him.

Meanwhile, Christian Lee recently secured his second title by finishing former welterweight champ Kiamrian Abbasov at ONE on Prime Video 4. 'The Warrior' told the promotion about his plans to defend both belts:

"Adjusting to both weight divisions, being your optimum fight shape, and of course, being twice as busy because now you have two divisions to defend. Man, it’s a very very tough task to accomplish, so I give Aung La credit. He’s an amazing fighter."

Christian Lee added, saying:

"But I plan to do a very similar thing. I plan to defend both divisions and be successful in both defenses."

Being a simultaneous two-division champion brings a lot of pressure, but if any fighter can handle it, it's the 24-year-old ONE phenom.

Christian Lee reflects on his war with Kiamrian Abbasov

'The Warrior' shared the circle with Kiamrian Abbasov for over 20 minutes before recording a TKO stoppage in the fourth round. The double-champion spoke with ONE about what it was like going tit-for-tat with Abbasov. He explained:

“Looking back, I still feel like I could’ve done much better at that fight. I feel like if I was fighting at my full potential that night, I could’ve finished him in the first round. But I had that early knockdown by Abbasov, and that kind of set me back a little bit. It turned the fight into a war which I was prepared for anyways.”

Lee has numerous challengers waiting in the wings who are gunning for his belts, but the champ has named Saygid Izagakhmaev as a likely next foe.
